I'm doing so well its scary!

Well I have had the most amazing morning. Not only have I been able to get on with my 'rock pool' piece and start the second one but I've also dyed a load of fabric. I realised when looking at the weekend's results that I was low on greens. So I now have a lovely load of greens with all the striations necessary for leaves and foliage plus some interesting effects ones too. So after all that I'm ready for lunch!

I am well pleased with what was originally only going to be a sample piece for playing with my art tools. It is building up well. The second piece of fabric was coloured differently so I didn't use the permanent marker as I felt that the edge would be too heavy for this side. I can see that I shall be haunting all the art supply stands at Allie Pallie to get more stuff. Lately most of the work I've been doing has been fairly abstract and geometric but this last month I've been drawn to the sea and using it to make more realistic pieces. So I'm having a ball playing with this. It will be interesting to see how it finally ends up!

Tonight when I return from work I will decide whether I can stitch on this piece or not and if not then I'll start working on the 'orb' project. But now I'm off for lunch.

  3. I love the yarns you are using--they look very organic and very float-y.

Thanks for the nice comment you left on my blog--you are so lucky to have your mother at 86!

  4. These are wonderful...the underpainting adds so much depth..I need to consider doing more surface stitching, i.e. beyond quilting, after seeing how fantastic it looks on your work.
