The Inexplicable!

I have a Pay Pal facility on my website and to date it has worked extremely well. However I've just received an order and I notice that the prices are all to pieces. In fact if it wasn't for the fact that it also mixed up the postage I would have been seriously out of pocket! Why is this? For example I sell FQ of fabric for £2.00. The wretched shopping cart was putting them in at 50p! I find this most disconcerting! I have made sure that everything is working now but it means that I will have to check ...daily! I know that my computer is run by gremlins so probably these unseen monsters had a hand in this too!

Today I bought some acrylic sheets for the dyeing. They were cheap and I got them from Trago Mills. If I'd bought them in B & Q they would have been two thirds more expensive! Even at this rate they were sufficiently costly that I couldn't buy loads. But then I don't have the space so don't need loads anyway. What I really need is a purpose built cupboard with wire frame baskets to keep my fabric in. The kind of baskets that are on racks and you pull them out. At the moment my fabrics are kept in tubs six stacks high. My days are full of excitement. The kind of excitement that is generated by finding things one has forgotten one has. The daily cry is: 'oh gosh, this would have been just perfect for blah which I made last week'! I have no idea what is in tub no 6 at the bottom as I run out of strength by the time I have lifted tub 5 down. There are two stacks but stack number 2 is labelled. Well stack number 1 is labelled but it lies. That reminds me of an Australian joke but I won't recount it here!

I have decided that life is too short! So I am going to cut back on the things that I do. I'm only going to teach and dye fabric basically. Of course teaching entails making samples, notes and hand outs. Dyeing entails making up things to show case it for selling. And I'm going to do the things I want to do for fun such as making bags and postcards. I have been stretching myself too far and before I snap I want to slow down. I don't need the stress. So no more feeling I have to do everything in a day. I shall finish one piece before I start another. If you believe that one there is no hope for you! Grin! But seriously I am going to organise myself better and in doing less accomplish more. And I'm going to limit the time I spend on the computer just doodling about. I shall only read blogs that interest me and not troll through loads hoping to find something mind bogglingly wonderful. I shall use the delete key rigourously when reading emails. And I shall use the calendar and task facility in Outlook to plan my time.

What is Your Celtic Horoscope?
I'm not over enamoured of this horoscope! Its too near the truth though I wouldn't agree with the last bit entirely. As a Gemini I like to think there are two sides to me!

  1. Fair enough - simplify, simplify, simplify! I have the same problem with tubs of fabric; I think the only way I am ever going to solve it is to find somewhere to get RID OF IT ALL!Arrgh!
